Why Me?

I still can’t help but wonder: why me?

Fractured foot———is this real, or a nightmare?!

Just when I’ve been getting back into racing shape. No PRs on the immediate horizon, but I’ve been chipping away.

And lately my racing instinct has been on the rise as I effectively put away two competitors in the final 100 meter kick of a 10k and I won a 6k in my sixth attempt in the same series on the same course.

So many folks don’t stretch. Many drink. Some smoke. They’re still out running a marathon today. I’m in an air cast booting my way around.

24 days without running.

And yet, I’m up. I’m walking pretty quickly. I’m dreaming–literally–of running, and running fast. And, most importantly,


Glory to G-d!

And I’ll be darned if I’m not trying my best to stay in shape.

Sunday, 11/18, abbreviated (20 minutes to spare): Legs, short circuit

Air Crunches: 27 forward-27 each side-27 front

Hammys: 3 x 27 kilos, 15 reps each

Abductors: 3 x 60 lbs, 15 reps

Adductors: 3 x 60 lbs, 15 reps

Obliques: 1 x 120 lbs, 15 reps

Saturday, 11/17: Arms-Back

Bicep Curls: 4 x 12 kilos, about 8 reps first set, 5-6 next sets

Shoulder Press: 4 x 50 lbs 15 reps

Lats: 4 x 80 lbs. 10 reps

Chest Press: 4 x 50 lbs 15 reps
