Just pulled out 4 running logs from the archives. I turned to March in each one to get an idea of what I was doing running-wise during this month in years past. Here’s a quick glance…
March 25-27, 1996 [I’m 18 years old]: 6 x 800 track workout @ about 2:30 average & 7.5 miles total for day
2 days of about 7 miles each day
March 04-09, 2004 [I’m 26 years old]: 4 miles, day off, 3.7 miles, 4 miles, 3 miles, “Official Day Off” [How could I have even needed a day off?!]
March 24-29, 2011 [I’m 33 years old]: 5 miles at 6:30 tempo pace on gravel
5 miles with a gym workout
14 miles [7:40 pace]
8 miles
5 x 1000m track workout [5:40-5:45 pace]
March 15-26, 2016 [I’m 37 years old]: 13 miles of running; then a gym workout
12 x 400m track workout (solo) @ 5:14 average pace
16 mile run
12 x 400m track workout (solo) @ 5:16 average pace
18.6 mile race @ 6:22 average pace; 6:14 pace for
final 1.5 miles
In terms of strength building and marathoning potential, I’m putting my money on my 37 year old self!
