Sometimes,

this is breakfast:


No milk in the cereal and a small serving of fruit. But I’m not eating the bowls of ramen or rice with eggs. And I’m not sure what’s in the seaweed. It’s all complimentary so I’d be eating like a king if it was a vegan joint. 

Crap. I feel bad. A fried egg just arrived before me on a small plate. 

Somehow my telling the server, “Bu yao dan” (no eggs) became an order for eggs. 

He looked a bit distraught as he took the egg back to the kitchen. A younger employee touched his shoulder, gesturing for him to eat my egg. 

Wow. My man just came back with this for me:


Sans egg. 

That is a good fried rice. Very good.
